Famously called as Fish-Tail peak, an unclimbed virgin peak around the Himalayas, and standing close to Mardi Himal. A marvelous walk to Mardi Himal viewpoint, facing a breathtaking panorama of the Annapurna Himalayas massif range. 
Mardi Himal is a small mountain, situated on the southern flank of Machhapuchare Himal, listed as a trekking peak of Nepal. Which is at the height of 5,587 m and 18,330 feet high, frequently climbed by trekkers and adventurers. 
Mardi Himal Trekking leads you off the beaten tracks away from the main trails of Annapurna's popular routes. Heading North West beyond villages and human settlements in the harmony of pristine surroundings of stunning snow-clad peaks.
An enjoyable walk from low warm farm areas to cooler hills covered in a dense forest of rhododendron and pine trees. The Mardi Himal and its beautiful high ridges and plateau are also called the ‘Other Sanctuary’. 
As named by early explorers and pioneers in the early 1960’s, on visiting the hidden corners of Annapurna Himalayas.
Mardi Himal Trek begins from beautiful Pokhara, a city blessed with the natural beauty of mountains and lakes. A short drive to the cooler hills and then climb to higher ridges to a scenic spot at Australian Camp. Also called Thulo-Kharka a summer grazing place with spectacular views of Annapurna Himalayan peaks has nice lodges around.
The adventure continues heading higher within dense tree lines following a scenic ridge, onwards to Mardi Himal. Reaching the High Camp, where tree lines fade for short alpine bush, and then trekking uphill to Mardi Himal viewpoint.
Enjoy the stunning panorama of Annapurna Himalayas with close views of Machhapuchare Himal the famed Fish Tail. After a memorable time and experience downhill to low warm farm areas for a short drive to beautiful Pokhara.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1,320 m and transfer to hotel.


On arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal International Airport get transferred to respective hotels. Check into your lovely rooms, after getting refreshed join with other trekking members for group briefing. Your guide or Group Leader, will provide useful information regarding trekking, hotels, and local lodge on Mardi Himal Trek. 

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with optional sightseeing tour and trek preparations.

A day in Kathmandu for familiarization with local Nepalese cultures and historical background. Morning after breakfast, our city / cultural guide will take you for a short drive in the heart of Kathmandu city.  Where most UNESCO World Heritage Sites located of great cultural and historical interest.

After an exciting tour, back to hotel rest of the afternoon preparation for Mardi Himal Trek.

Day 3 : Fly or drive to Pokhara 860 m (30 mins by air)-06 hours on road.

An early morning start for an exciting drive, heading towards Nepal Mid-West at scenic Pokhara city. An interesting overland journey through rural farm villages and towns and then reaching at Pokhara for overnight halt. Located on the laps of Annapurna Himalayas that reflects on its beautiful Phewa and Begnas Lakes.

(Options by air of 30 minutes panoramic flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu) 

Day 4 : Drive to Kande 1,520 m and trek to Potana village 1,951 m-04 hrs.

After a nice pleasant overnight in Pokhara with excellent views of Annapurna Himalayas. Having breakfast an exciting drive leads you beyond Pokhara valley to the starting point of Mardi Himal trekking.

Drive leads past Pokhara valley outskirt with marvelous scenery of Annapurna Himalayas and farm lands. From the place called Kande, and then climb to Australian Camp, also called Thulo Kharka, a summer grazing field.

Enjoy grand views of Annapurna and Manaslu range. From here walk to Potana village for overnight halt. This small village offer magnificent views of Annapurna Himalaya with majestic Machhapuchare Himal.

Day 5 : Trek to Low Camp 2,970 m - 06 hrs.

After a pleasant overnight with fabulous views of snow peaks, walk continues on main trail reaching a hill top. Reaching at Deurali, offers superb views of snow peaks with Mt. Dhaulagiri towards west. From Deurali our route heads north leaving the main trekking trails to sheer wilderness. The trail leads along a ridgeline into a serene forested path with cool temperature, facing views of Annapurna South, Huin-Chuli. Then reaching at Forest Camp a small settlement with few basic lodges for trekkers.

After a short rest walk leads higher with steep climb to reach a pasture land for overnight stop at Low Camp. Which is on route Mardi View Point offers super views of surrounding landscapes and mountains at close range.

Day 6 : Trek to High Camp 3,700 m - 05 hrs.

This lovely spot offers grand vista of beautiful landscapes and snow-clad peaks in perfect tranquility. From Low Camp heading higher to High Camp as the air gets thinner and cooler with steep climb. Then finally reaching to our overnight destination at High Camp, where tree lines fades for short rhododendron and juniper bushes.

Here at High Camp with a few simple lodges for overnight accommodation commanding super views of Annapurna Himalayas.

Day 7 : At High Camp for hike to Mardi Himal View Point 4,500 m - 05 hrs.

At High Camp for another night stop to explore beyond High Camp with day hike to Mardi Himal. Walk towards a high ridge on the highest point of the trek above 4,500 m. The trail follows to steep climb along a ridgeline to reach a hidden plateau close to Mardi Himal.

Facing grand views of towering Mt. Machhapuchare; this area known as 'Other Sanctuary' named by early pioneer Jimmy Roberts.

When first explored the area in the mid 1960's, after enjoying the views of super mountain panorama. Return journey back on same route to High Camp for overnight stop.

Day 8 : Trek to Low Camp-04 hrs.

A short walk downhill to Low Camp, after completing the main highlight of the adventure. Retrace the journey back to Low Camp for last overnight on the high hills of Mardi and Annapurna Himalayas.

Day 9 : Trek to Siding village 1,530 m and drive to Pokhara- 06 hrs.

The last day walk to the road-head at Siding village, follow the downhill trail through dense tree lines. On reaching Siding village an exciting drive of few hours to beautiful Pokhara. Transfer into respective hotels by the Phewa Lake side, rest of the day at leisure to browse around the lake side streets.

Day 10 : Drive to Kathmandu-06 hours.

Start the morning early for an interesting drive to Kathmandu. 
The overland journey takes you on the main busy highway following the Trisuli River, as drive climbs on winding road. Then enter Kathmandu valley suburb and into the city after a long exciting drives of near 6 hours. Check into your hotels with rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 11 : Free day in Kathmandu for individual activities.

Reserved as free day, enjoy individual activities in Kathmandu or explore around the three historical sites of Kathmandu valley. As well enjoy a shopping spree for souvenirs of Nepal.

Day 12 : International departure for homeward bound.

Last final day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as per your international flight time.
All Destinations Holiday staff transfers you to the airport, and then bidding farewell to your guide and staff. As you enter the airport terminal for homeward bound, after a memorable adventure on Mardi Himal Trekking.
