Overview

Everest base camp trekking with All Destinations Holidays leads you to scenic and cultural adventurous walks. Everest base camp trekking is one of the most popular adventure destinations in the Himalayas. The trail leads through the lovely villages of Phakding, Monjo, and Namche Bazaar after a short panoramic flight to Lukla. Where the walk enters Sagarmatha National Park enriched with exotic flora and fauna, the park is designated as a world heritage site. Sagarmatha is a name for Mt. Everest in Nepal, while the local native Sherpa calls as Chomolungma of Tibetan origin language.
The adventure continues heading towards the high Namche Bazaar, a famous and major hub of Khumbu villagers. As well for trekkers, a great place and a perfect altitude for rest and acclimatization days at 3,440 m high.
After Namche Bazaar on the high scenic trail to beautiful Tengboche and its magnificent monastery. Located amidst lovely dense tree lines of tall rhododendron, juniper, pines, and firs, surrounded by giant snow peaks.
One of the great spots for views of Mt. Everest, as well as for a tour of its interesting monastery. Leaving Tengboche and tree lines behind for complete mountain wilderness, as the walk gets closer to Everest base camp. Spending overnights en route at the lovely settlements of Dingboche and Lobuche, then reaching our final destination at Everest base camp.
Enjoy the dramatic scenery of arctic terrain of a rocky moraine, ice, and glaciers with close views of massive Khumbu Ice-Fall. However, the views of Everest are obstructed by the giant peaks of Nuptse and Lhotse, but an exciting place to experience. 
On completing our major feat of reaching the main highlight at Everest base camp, the next adventure takes you to the top of Kalapathar. 
The highest point of the trek, for all the hard efforts, rewards you with incredible close views of Mt. Everest.
Return journey leads to long descent as you feel on top spirits losing altitude on daily walks. Heading back to Namche Bazaar and at Lukla for the last final overnight around high Khumbu and Everest region. A scenic flight from Lukla brings you to Ramechap at Manthali airport for an exciting drive to Kathmandu.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1,320 m and transfer to hotel.


On arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal International Airport get transferred to respective hotels. Check into your lovely rooms, after getting refreshed join with other trekking members for group briefing. Your guide or Group Leader, will provide useful information regarding trekking, hotels, and local lodge on Everest base camp. 

Day 2 : Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest and drive to 
Ramechap- 05 hours.


A day in Kathmandu for familiarization with local Nepalese cultures and historical background. Morning after breakfast, our city / cultural guide will take you for a short drive in the heart of Kathmandu city.  Where most UNESCO World Heritage Sites located of great cultural and historical interest.

After an exciting tour, back to hotel rest of the afternoon preparation for Everest base camp trek. Where an exciting drive takes you to Ramechap at Manthali town near its small airport for flight to Lukla, next early morning. Overnight in one of the best lodges available at Manthali town of Ramechap district.

Day 3 : Fly to Lukla 2, 846 m and trek to Phakding 2,645 m - 04 hrs. 


Walk to Manthali airport as per flight time for Lukla, board on a small aircraft. During 25 minutes air borne enjoy breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks with Mt. Everest, as plane reaches Lukla airport.

On arrival at Lukla town and Tenzing & Hillary airport, walk leads to Dudh Koshi River valley. A pleasant walk of some hours past nice Sherpa villages, adorned with Buddhist monument and prayer walls.

After three hours of good walk arriving at Phakding village for overnight in the comfort of a nice lodge.

Day 4 : Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11, 350 feet - 06 hrs.


Morning from Phakding walk on pleasant trail above Dudh Koshi River on route to overnight stop at famous Namche Bazaar. Morning after breakfast, walk to cross a long bridge over Dudh Koshi River to Monjo village. Where Sagarmatha National Park entrance located. (Sagarmatha a name of Everest in Nepal, the native Sherpa calls Chomolungma). 

After the national park, crossing another bridge to Jorsalle for lunch break, the settlement before Namche Bazaar. Afternoon leads to a high bridge, and then on winding uphill path reaches Namche Bazaar for overnight stop.



Day 5 : At Namche for acclimatization and a short scenic hike.


A rest day in Namche Bazaar to support acclimatization before heading higher ground. Morning take an acclimatization hike to the top of Namche Bazaar for grand views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. Overlooking grand views of 
Mt. Ama Dablam with an array of peaks. Visit the park museum of great cultural interest with full information of Khumbu / Everest region. 

Afternoon at leisure for short walk around Namche Bazaar, and soak into local interesting cultures of Buddhism. Namche Bazaar offers various facilities for local villagers as well for trekkers. 

Day 6 : Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.


From Namche Bazaar morning walks leads further on a scenic wide path. 
Overlooking grand views of snow peaks with downhill to Imjatse River at Phunge Tenga. A small popular place for lunch and refreshing stops, afternoon walk leads to climb up towards Tengboche monastery. A beautiful location surrounded by giant mountains with views of Mt. Everest. At Tengboche explore the monastery. interior and main prayer hall adorned with tall statues of Buddha with various saints and great Gurus.

After a wonderful time at Tengboche a short descent to a nice areas at Deboche for overnight stop, where best lodges situated. 

Day 7 : Trek to Dingboche 4,340 m - 05 hrs.


Enjoy the morning glorious views of Mt. Everest and majestic looking Ama Dablam. Morning walk downhill to a bridges, from here onwards tree lines drops for short juniper bushes. 

A gradual climb leads to Pangboche village, the last permanent village on route Everest base camp. After a short break, continue uphill to Somare for possible lunch stop beneath towering Mt. Ama Dablam.

From Somare, afternoon with slow climb and down to a river, as steep uphill starts for an hour reaching Dingboche. Situated on a scenic Imjatse valley beneath Ama Dablam North Face with views of Island Peak, Nuptse and Lhotse.

At Dingboche check into a nice lodge with rooms facing views of surrounding snow-capped peaks.

Day 8 : Rest day in Dingboche for acclimatization and short excursion.


Another pleasant rest day in Dingboche, a perfect altitude for acclimatization before reaching our major highlight. A steep climb of few hours, well worth the strenuous walks overlooking stunning panorama of surround giant peaks.

Afternoon enjoy a leisure relaxing day exploring around Dingboche a nice settlement with many fine lodges and shops. 

Day 9 : Trek to Lobuche 4,960 m - 05 hrs.


From Dingboche, morning a short steep climb to a high ridge, facing grand views of Island Peak. Includes views of Makalu in the Far East with towering Ama Dablam. From the ridge a slow climb to Thugla, a small place with few tea-houses and lodges. Where route of Pheriche and Dingboche meets, a perfect spot for lunch stop before a steep climb to Thugla ridge.

After lunch an hour or less climb to a small plateau, and then walk on gradual path to Lobuche, and transfer into a nice lodge. Located on a wide valley with several nice lodges facing views of Nuptse peak.

Day 10 : Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and back to Gorakshep - 06 hrs. 


Rising early for the big day, morning walk to Everest base camp a steady long day trek. Where trail leads over rocky moraine above Khumbu glacier and then reaching Gorakshep. Located on a sandy glaciated field at the base of Kalapathar hill and towering Mt. Pumori. 

Having a short break at Gorakshep, adventure continues east following a rocky path high above Khumbu glaciers. Finally reaching the main highlight at Everest base camp. Enjoy standing on the foot of Mt. Everest, the views of Everest is obstructed by Lhotse and Nuptse peaks.

A great exciting stupendous scenery of massive ice and glaciers with close views of huge tumbling Khumbu Ice Fall. Feeling on top spirits walk back to Gorakshep for overnight stop, after a long wonderful hike to Everest base camp. 

Day 11 : Climb Kalapathar 5,643 m and trek to Pangboche 3, 900 m - 06 hrs. 


An early morning hike with steep up to the top of Kalapathar hill, the highest spot of the adventure. Well worth the tough strenuous climb, as it rewards outstanding views of towering peaks with Mt. Pumori ahead in front. 
Facing spectacular views of Mt. Everest at close distance with surrounding high giant peaks. 
After an exciting scenic views feeling high, downhill to Gorakshep for breakfast then leaving for long downhill. Walking past Lobuche and Thugla towards Pheriche valley. At Pheriche for lunch, a nice places with many good lodges and restaurants. Afternoon walk down to a river and a short climb, where easy walks reaches overnight stop at Pangboche in the comfort of a nice lodge. 

Day 12 : Trek to Kyanjinma 3, 630 m via Tengboche - 06 hrs.


Enjoy the morning views of towering Ama Dablam from Pangboche, and then down to a river. After the bridge climb reaches into green forest to Tengboche for short refreshing stop. From Tengboche a long descent to cross another bridge with short climb up to Sanasa village. Located at the junction of Namche, Khumjung and Gokyo routes, from here a short up walk to Kyanjinma.
A small settlement within a tranquil surrounding facing grand views of Everest, Ama Dablam and Tharmasarku peaks. Due to its peacefulness chances of catching some wildlife like musk deer and colorful Danfe Pheasant. The national bird of Nepal often seen around in large number. Overnight in the comfort of a nice cosy lodge. 

Day 13 : Trek to Monjo 2,880 m via Namche Bazaar- 05 hrs.


From this isolated spot at Kyanjinma, walk on gradual winding path to Namche Bazaar for possible lunch stop. After a good lunch, walk downhill to Dudh-Koshi River with short steep up to Sagarmatha National Park entrance and exit post. 
After walk past the national park a short walk to Monjo for overnight halt, rest of the day at leisure.

Day 14 : Trek to Lukla 2, 846 m - 04 hours.


Final and last day trek of the adventure, enjoy the walk on pleasant winding trail past Phakding. After Phakding an hour last uphill to Lukla for final overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest region. Reaching Lukla by lunch time and for overnight stop, afternoon with time to explore around Lukla town.

Day 15 : Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu with afternoon free at leisure.


Morning having early breakfast, and then walk to Tenzing & Hillary airport terminal at Lukla. As plane arrives from Kathmandu or Ramechap, then board on the small aircraft for swift short flight. Then landing at Manthali airport in Ramechap, from Manthali an exciting drive of five hours brings you to Kathmandu. Check into your hotels, with rest of the day at leisure for individual activities. 

Day 16 : Free day as contingency and for individual activities.


Reserved and contingency day, in case of flight delay or cancelation at Lukla due to unfavorable weather condition. Which happens sometimes, if all goes well as per the itinerary enjoy the full day in Kathmandu. 

Day 17 : International departure for homeward bound.


Last final day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as per your international flight time.
All Destinations Holiday staff transfers you to the airport, and then bidding farewell to your guide and staff. As you enter the airport terminal for homeward bound, after a memorable adventure on Everest Base Camp Trekking.
