Besides wonderful scenery of dramatic landscapes of rolling green hills and valleys with ever-present towering peaks. The local cultures around the hill villages are equally fascinating to experience on this marvelous Annapurna Himalaya Ghandruk Trek.

The walk leads within an enchanting forest of tall rhododendron, magnolia, oaks, and pine forest, facing grand mountain views.

Annapurna Himalaya Ghandruk Trekking begins with a short drive to the hill village of Dhampus from beautiful Pokhara city. Where most adventures around Annapurna start and end in this scenic city of Pokhara and by its serene Phewa Lake.

From the hill village of Dhampus inhabited by Gurung, the main tribes of the Annapurna Himalaya range. The Gurung are interwoven to Buddhism religion and cultures, as well as practice age-old tradition of Bon and Shamanism cult.

The trek follows a high ridge line with an ever-present panorama of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu Himalayas with Machhapuchare Himal.

Walking through a forested trail to the nice village of Potana and towards the high hilltop at Pritam Deurali. The highest spot and best view-points of the journey with stunning scenery of hills and valleys with high snow-capped peaks.

The trek continues downhill to a nice large village of Landruk with grand views of Annapurna South. After Landruk down to Modi River which flows from the glacial source of Annapurna Himalayas at Annapurna base camp.

Crossing the raging river, heading for a long steep climb on stone steps to a large lovely village at Ghandruk. Located at a height of 1,951 m high, where the air gets much cooler facing wonderful views of Annapurna Himalayan peaks.

Ghandruk, populated by the Gurung the menfolk are famous as brave Gorkha soldiers in foreign legions. Especially in the British and Indian Armies, traditional they are farmers and raising livestock. At Ghandruk with time explore the traditional village and its small Gurung museum. Treasures of farm tools and heritage cultures of the Gurung history.

On completing the wonderful scenic journey the walk ends at Ghandruk, and then taking an exciting drive to beautiful Pokhara.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1,320 m and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal International Airport get transferred to respective hotels. Check into your lovely rooms, after getting refreshed join with other trekking members for group briefing. Your guide or Group Leader, will provide useful information regarding trekking, hotels, and local lodge on Annapurna Himalaya Ghandruk Trek.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with optional sightseeing tour and trek preparations.

A day in Kathmandu for familiarization with local Nepalese cultures and historical background. Morning after breakfast, our city / cultural guide will take you for a short drive in the heart of Kathmandu city. Where most UNESCO World Heritage Sites located of great cultural and historical interest.

After an exciting tour, back to hotel rest of the afternoon preparation for Annapurna Ghandruk Trek.

Day 3 : Fly or drive to Pokhara 860 m (30 mins by air)-06 hours on road.

An early morning start for an exciting drive, heading towards Nepal Mid-West at scenic Pokhara city. An interesting overland journey through rural farm villages and towns and then reaching at Pokhara for overnight halt. Located on the laps of Annapurna Himalayas that reflects on its beautiful Phewa and Begnas Lakes.

(Options by air of 30 minutes panoramic flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu)

Day 4 : Drive to Dhampus 1,540 m and trek to Potana 1,900 m - 04 hours.

After a nice pleasant overnight in Pokhara with excellent views of Annapurna Himalayas. Having breakfast an exciting drive leads you beyond Pokhara valley to the starting point of Annapurna Himalaya Ghandruk trekking. Drive leads past Pokhara valley outskirt with marvelous scenery of Annapurna.

Himalayas and farm lands. From the place at Phedi, drive climbs on winding dirt road to lovely Dhampus. A large Gurung village with grand backdrop of Annapurna and Manaslu range. From here walk begins following a higher ridge Into cool shade of forest to reach Potana village. A place with many good lodges for overnight stop offers majestic views of Machhapuchare Himal.

Day 5 : Trek to Landruk village 1,530 m via Deurali 2,100 m - 05 hrs.

An easy day of short climb to Deurali on leaving Potana, walk uphill through lovely woods to Deurali. Enjoy the glorious fabulous views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayas. A great scenic spot as well the highest point of the trek, from Deurali downhill to Bheda Kharka. Crossing a small bridge on winding gradual trail to Tolka village, and then reach Landruk for overnight halt. A large Gurung village with super views of Annapurna South and surrounding lovely landscapes scenery.

Day 6 : Trek to Ghandruk village 1,951 m - 04 hrs.

Morning from Landruk village walk starts downhill to Modi River, crossing a steel bridge towards farm areas. As climb leads on stone paved steps all the way to Ghandruk village for lunch and overnight stop.

Ghandruk, one of the major and largest village around the southern hills of Annapurna Himalayas. The village inhabited by the Gurung, the main hill tribes of Annapurna Himalayas. At Ghandruk explore around the scenic view point and its old typical farm village, including a small Gurung museum of great cultural interest.

Day 7 : Trek to road-head and drive to Pokhara 860 m- 03 hrs.

Last day walk a short trek to the road-head, where an exciting drive of few hours reaches beautiful Pokhara. Transfer into respective hotels by the Phewa Lake side, rest of the day at leisure to browse around the lake side streets.

Day 8 : Drive to Kathmandu-06 hours.

Start the morning early for an interesting drive to Kathmandu. The overland journey takes you on the main busy highway following the Trisuli River, as drive climbs on winding road. Then enter Kathmandu valley suburb and into the city after a long exciting drives of near 6 hours. Check into your hotels with rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 9 : Free day in Kathmandu for individual activities.

Reserved as free day, enjoy individual activities in Kathmandu or explore around the three historical sites of Kathmandu valley. As well enjoy a shopping spree for souvenirs of Nepal.

Day 10 : International departure for homeward bound.

Last final day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as per your international flight time. All Destinations Holiday staff transfers you to the airport, and then bidding farewell to your guide and staff. As you enter the airport terminal for homeward bound, after a memorable short scenic adventure around Annapurna Ghandruk Trekking.
